We are All Stars! This is a sport! (Open)

Ama walked into the gym. She was brand new and had signed up for tryouts. This was her first time for anything like this. She had watched and read about the gym. The normal apparel was a sport bra in the gym colors either red, black, gold, or white, a pair of shorts usually spandex and a bow in her haur. She was wearing a black sport bra and black spandex. She wore a gold bow in her hair while it was in a ponytail. She signed in and headed to the room where her last tryout for the team would be.

Maiko was already in the room, stretching and going through routines in her head. She had a plain white bow in her hair, a loose black tank top and red spanx, but was wearing black shorts over them. She checked her phone for messages before shutting it off and tossing in her bag. She had been here for a while and was anxious to star the final try outs.

She looked around and she shoulders slumped lightly. Everyone was already warming up. Perhaps she should've came early. She was super embarrassed now. She put her thing in a corner and began stretching. She counted down and when she was dine she went near the tumble mat to warm up her tumbling.

Maiko, thoroughly stretched, glanced around at her competition. None of them seemed to be much of a threat to her. Having the ability to both a base and flyer heightened her chances of getting in. She also noticed she was the only one dressed like she was. Then Maiko noticed one of the girls using the tumbling mats. She hadn't seen her before really and got a little curious so she went over and watched her.

She calmed herself and practiced a few cartwheels to get used to the feeling of the floor and mat. It was a but harder than her old gym but it felt safer than the soft mats. She watched a few of the people practicing on other mats. So on the Level five team you usually ended with a layout. Well that seemed far enough. She got ready again and did a simple roundiff into backhand spring into back tuck. It felt a little harder than usual, but that might have been from the eyes on her. She made her arm motions up and to the side.

Maiko caught herself staring too much then hastily bowed to Ama.

"Forgive me for watching! I just haven't seen you before, and I like your form when you perform. I'm Matsushita Maiko." Mailo spoke a little softer than normal volume and bowed again.

She nodded at the girl. "Thank you. I practice my form day and night, it also helps that I am a former gymnast." She said pulled her top down a little. She felt a little more comfortable with someone talking to her here.

Allen stood off to the side with the coach and few other members of team. He didn't necessarily like the idea of having to judge who got in and who didn't but their coach felt that the current members should know who was going to be on their team and give their opinions on them. Looking around he was a bit impressed by the skill that some of the girls had and how many girls had made it to the final tryout.

Maiko nodded.

"I admire your dedication. I think I'll go practice some more. It was very nice to meet you!" She then scurried off to practice and run through routines more. She didnt notice the coaches and current members in the room.

Ama watched others and copied the jumps easily. She had good leg muscles and hip flexors, the way you entered the jump was a bit different that gymnastics but it was pretty fun. She looked around. Was everyone in here signed up for this team. She didn't see any stunts being put up so they had to be all newbies or at least not stunting partners. After a while someone was telling all the trainees to line up because it was time to start. They were going to do conditioning and then tumble passes.

Donny wanders on in eventually, he was late but he didn't really have to be here. The current team members were supposed to be giving input on the folks trying out, and he was definitely going to try and get the hotties on the team. As well as people who really were good obviously. He sets himself down on the bleachers and observes quietly.

As they began to start the tryouts Allen took a seat on the bleachers. He looked around to see which members had actually shown up and noticed his teammate, Donny along with some of the girls on the team. He was a bit surprised more people didn't show up but guessed that since it wasn't mandatory they didn't feel need to go. To be honest if he hadn't promised the coach that he would be there to help out he, probably wouldn't have come either. Despite the fact that there was quite a few cute girls trying out and that a few had some talent, he couldn't help but feel bored by all of the unskilled or unexciting  performances by many of the girls.

Everyone began filling into the Lines they had been assigned. Ama took the first position of the first line. If they were dine by gymnastic skill it would seem that she was a vauble and more than likely in the team just by showing up. She sometimes had a big head.

Maiko was put in the later half of one of the last lines. She was not very enthused at this, since she felt that she was one of the better girls here. Maybe they were trying to spice up the competition by throwing some good with the bad and vice versa. Lines had never made her feel comfortable anyways.

She noticed two young boys sitting in the bleachers and thought that they must be the only boys on the team, or that they were the only dedicated ones.

Ironically, Donny was the type that really wished they could add everyone to the team, none of these girls deserved to be cut, because they could train and improve right? He wasn't here just for the girls, he really did love cheerleading, and felt it was something everyone should do if they wanted to. Maybe the coach could do a secondary team for the people not up to snuff? Then they could train up and join next year? He had no idea if that was feasible but its what he wanted to have happen.

They called Ama's named and she went over to the mat. She stood on one side of the mat and stared straight ahead. She did a pass of a front walkover roundoff back handspring tuck whip layout. She wanted to start off in a bang but simple bang. She wanted to see everyone's tumbling. She went back in her position on the line and waited to see what the other girls did. She felt proud of her performance, it would force the others to push themselves.

After watching Ama, Maiko got a little nervous. She definitely not up to that par, but besides being a cheerleader, she was a dancer. Not a cheerleader and gymnast. She took several deep breaths and watched the other girls. Most did simple back handsprings and roundoffs. That was fine, she supposed, but she had something a little more fancy in mind.

When she got up to her turn she took a deep breath focusing on her move. Maiko felt her adrenaline rush as she pulled off a front tuck-roundoff-back handspring-layout twist. She kept her cheeriest smile on as she went back in line. Now that she looked, her hands were shaking a bit. She clasped them behind her back, hoping no one would notice.

As each girl took their turn two girls stood out the most to him. The first was a girl with a white bow in her hair and the other was a girl who had a golden bow. Both made their maneuvers look easy and obviously had experience doing cheerleading or gymnastics.

Donny sees two particularly promising girls, in all of the above categories that would make him push for them on the team. He nods approvingly to himself and grins, thinking up a little prank to pull on some innocent victim.

One of the coaches, a woman yelled at some of the trainees. "Yo girls and boys. What is this? High school? This is a level 5 team! That means you end in a layout or better! Not a back handspring if your having trouble understanding that I want you to go try out for the level 4.1 or level 3 team cause that is not how this division does it. Damn, the least you could do is try one. Seriously it shows you got guts." She sat back down along with the returning members and sighed. That might get the juices flowing.

Ama flinched a little at the force this woman had. It was a bit of the gymnastics gym, but...more brutal.

Maiko looked pretty ashamed. She thought she had done really well but this lady really dug into her. This both boosted her determination while also boosting her sense of inadequacy. Quite a puzzling mix of emotions.

One of the better girls looked like she wasn't gonna handle Yoko well. Donny took it upon himself to go and talk to her. "Hey, excuse me miss, I was hoping you would talk to me for a moment." He smiled genuinely, and spoke sweetly, as is his nature to do and all.

Yoko held her clipboard and wrote down both Maiko and Ama's name. They were both great in tumbling. So she marked that area with a dash. That had meant they were good material, though after she yelled she watched the two girls reaction. Ama barely reacted but Maiko became a bit distressed. That was something she was going to help her work work on. If she couldn't handle this then she might crack under pressure from competition. "Hm...."

Ama walked over to Maiko and the boy. She waved at Maiko. "That was great. I loved that Series. Also with a twist like that you should have a double in no time."

Maiko tilted her head at the boy from the bleachers. Her posture and face became a little brighter as she also heard the compliment on her set. She had no idea why that comment shook her so much. It was possibly because she had never tried out for such a legitimate team before, and she didnt want it to be a waste of time. She bowed to Donny when he approached, and smiled at Ama.

"Is there something I did wrong? Or, I mean, something I could improve on? Trying out for this has really set my nerves on edge, I'm never like this at competitions for school. And your set was nearly flawless, tumbling is definitely your strong suit."

Allen moved so that he was next to Yoko. He knew the coach probably wasn't trying to seem mean or intimidating but he feared that some of the girls trying out might feel that way about especially seeing how one of the girls that was actually good reacted. "Hey Sensei, don't you think you're being a bit harsh. You don't want to scare all the girls off even if some of them do need to be a bit more motivated."
