Horai is what most girls would call a heart-breaker. He's very handsome and is in very good shape. His body is covered in muscle built from working out and coming from a rather active family. He has dark black hair that had a blue tint to it and his blue eyes seem to take in the color from his red glasses and make them look purple. Horai is very manly and has strong arms to hold his swooning ladies in. Rei is almost always in his school uniform, when not he will wear something with a butterfly motif. Horai stands at 5 ft 9 ins and weighs 145 lbs. Not often is he seen without his glasses, it is only when he swims that he does not wear them. His swim uniform is black and have blue patterns on them. His track outfit is a white top with gray, black, and yellow accents.

Personality:
Horai is a seemingly serious guy. He always has a serious look on his face and you couldn't tell what he's thinking. He's very devoted to his friends and family, more importantly devoted to his sports which include Track and Swim. Even though most people would find him rather serious and scary he has lots and lots of friends. One of his friends happens to be Arata Shinobu a girl on his track team. Horai happens to fall in love easily and gets hurt by it often. He has never fell in love with one of his fan-girls though. He seems to be attracted to girls who see his strength and potential but treat him like a friend and not try to glomp him every time they see him. He finds clingy girls to be very off putting.

Background:
Horai comes from a family of track athletes, his mother and father both on the track team. His mother met his father on their Tokyo region All-Star track team. They both did the pole vault, his father was determined he would marry the young pole vaulter. They had mutual friends who passed messages to Toma but they always were that she didn't like him, he should give up, she wasn't worth it. Toma was very determined though, he was sure they were going to get married and have a family. He began showing off in front of Yuka, getting his pole vault the highest off all other members of the team. Yuka decided she would give him a change. They went on a couple of dates and she wasn't interested in him. His father than proposed to her and said yes because he seemed like an okay guy. He has a past with Arata as his ex-girlfriend.
